The Permanent Make up Procedure from start to finish - Step 2 - Your initial treatment.

Updated: Jun 13, 2022

Approximate appointment times: (these can vary depending on mapping time)

Eyeliner - 1 hour
Microblading - 1 hour
Combination brow - 1.5 hours
Powder brows - 2 hours
Lips 2.5 - hours

When you arrive for your appointment I will ask you if you have any questions or worries before we start and then ask you to lie on the beauty bed so I can apply your topical numbing cream. Whilst this takes effect we will go through your paperwork. After this has been signed off I will mix up the colour and show you how it looks against your hair if we are doing your brows, or lips of we are doing a blush. I then take some 'before' pictures so that I have a record of how you looked before the treatment.

I will then begin your mapping (brows only). This is done by using a thin thread with ink on it to place temporary lines on the face to make sure that your brows are symmetrical. From here, I draw the brow outline with a black pencil and let you see to check that you are happy with she shape. This is such an important step and we can tweak them until you are 100% happy. Until that point, I don't do anything permanent!

Once all is agreed I then start the procedure. It shouldn't hurt but will at most be a little scratchy. If you are having micro blading I will start to draw in the tiny brow hairs from bulb to tail, and do about 3-4 passes on each side. If you are having a combination brow, I will show you the microblading result before I start with the shading so you can see what a difference it makes and how much depth it adds to the brows. If I am doing a full powder brow I will begin at the tail and work forwards and stay light and airy towards the bulb so it isn't too heavy. After 3 or so passes I will show you to make sure they are dark enough, or if you would like a little more pigment adding. The brows can lighten by up to 50% during the healing process so if they are the perfect colour on the day that they are done, the chances are they will heal a little too light. Luckily its a 2 appointment procedure so any alterations can be made to the colour when you come back In 6 weeks time.

Lip blush also lightens a lot during the healing, and at times may look like its disappeared completely, but don't worry, its all part of the process! Your lip colour will be much darker/brighter on the day they are done and this can be a little disconcerting but it heals to a lovely natural splash of colour. The lips may also be swollen for the first 24 hours, so just prepare for that when deciding the best time for your appointment.

After the treatment is complete we will book in your 6 week top up appointment and take payment for the balance. I will give you a bag with your aftercare kit inside and go through your aftercare instructions with you.

And that's it, you're half way to your perfect brows/lips/eyeliner!
